What Is Inventions?
What Is Inventions?
Inventions is a rock concert with an orchestra! It provides artists, community members, and partners opportunities for artistic creation, education, mentorship, and performance. It was a program of the Halifax Music Co-op before it closed during COVID. We’re aiming to bring Inventions back for 2026!
Artists
Unlike other symphonic pop concerts that center on the music of an established artist, Inventions focuses on elevating the music of emerging artists. Inventions artists work with composers to expand their music into large-scale works and perform with a community orchestra of over 100 musicians. The Inventions experience supports Artists in taking their music to new heights.Artists
Orchestra
The Inventions Orchestra is open to musicians of all ages, no matter what their level of experience! Together, community musicians learn and rehearse the music of the Inventions artist, building on each others' skills. The Inventions Artist will perform alongside the orchestra in an immersive and dynamic rock show that draws in hundreds of concert goers. Orchestra
Audience
The audience is an important part of the vibrant and inclusive music community that is formed around Inventions. Inventions concerts are dynamic multi-media experiences that showcase the music of new and emerging local artists in a high-energy environment. Inventions strives to offer affordable and accessible music experiences for the community. Audience
